A quote is only as good as what we know about the door. Over the phone we can give you a realistic range if you can tell us the door's width (single or double), roughly how old it is, whether it's steel, wood, or insulated, and what's actually happening - spring snapped, opener dead, door off track, panel caved in. Photos help more than a description does, especially of the spring (or where it used to be) and the tracks.
What we can't price sight unseen: anything involving cable, drum, or bearing wear beyond the obvious, because those parts fail together often enough that a phone estimate would just be a guess. Same goes for structural damage behind a dented panel, or an opener that's intermittently failing rather than fully dead - we need eyes on it.
The honest limitation here is that an over-the-phone number is a starting point, not a contract. We'll confirm it on site before any work starts, and if what we find doesn't match what we were told, we'll walk you through the difference before we touch anything.
